The Weekly Round-Up!: Now With 15% More Red Dye #4

We've gone back to the testing kitchens here at Diversions and cooked you guys up a brand new Weekly Round-Up! chock full of your weekly minimum dosage of news and info. If you check out the ingredients label, you'll find: Buchephalus Games Rides Into The Arena, Games Workshop Gives Us Five, Duncan Toys Tries To Sell Warballs Without Giggling, WizKids Responds To Finest-Gate, Upper Deck Hits Forbidden List...Again, Fantasy Flight Lays Down Ex-Games Workshop Plans, Marvel Brings On The Chibis, and our regular Link Madness and a Capsule Review from a seaside temple. One tasty serving of Round-Up! - now on your plate!

Celebrate The Fifth With Two

For those of you not celebrating Cinco De Mayo in the traditional way, that is to say with tasty beverges, we have a brand new pair of springtime reviews for you this week. First up, we look through Z-Man Games' Saboteur and see if the rules sabotage the fun and then we head to the islands with our metal detector to see if we can detect some fun in Playroom Entertainment's Dead Man's Treasure. Put the lime in the Diversions and come on down for some fun.

May Day! May Day! We Have A Weekly Round-Up! Incoming

Tripping over the end of April, we are springing right into May with May Day, Cinqo De Mayo, and well, a lot of people can't seem to remember anything after that. (Right Bowman?) We found the following news bits scribbled on a cocktail napkin: Bandai Lays The (Dragon)Balls On The Table, Bandai Looking For A Miracle, Upper Deck Interview Yields Info, Flying Frog Hops Into Product Two, Looney Labs Claps Their Coconuts For New Game, Fantasy Flight Info Explosion, TC Digital's OP Plans Little Less Chaotic, What Are The Origin Awards Thinking?, WizKids Crossover, WizKids Channels Lucas, A Few Console Notes, A Link Madness, and we pinned the Mox to the wall for another guest Capsule Review. Take a little of the dog that bit you, and come down for Shadowmoor this weekend. It'll cure that nasty gamer's hangover...

Shadowmoor Release Event Is Saturday

Just a quick note to all regular customers and players looking to come to our Shadowmoor Release Event. Due to whatever mishap, malfunction, or Faerie Trickery - Wizards has our Shadowmoor Release Event as Sunday, May 4th. It is - in fact - Saturday, May 3rd all day. We will be running events on Sunday for all interested parties that will include any variety of Draft, Sealed, One Pack Mini Master that you want and we'll cough up promos for these events (including the Vexing Shusher if we have any left to those that have not recieved them), but the main event is on Saturdy, not Sunday. Sorry for any problems this may cause.

Two Renew For You Starting In May!

It’s springtime here at Diversions and we are letting some older games blossom once again in our robust gaming schedule. First up, you can see the new growth on the UFS card game now from Fantasy Flight. We held off a while waiting for the reset to happen and for Fantasy Flight to take up their new fighting stance and now we are ready to rumble. We have a robust schedule of May events each Sunday including the Thirteen Seals Battle: All and the Lost Cathedral Brawl. In addition to a brand new bumper crop of powerful promos, May also bring some mightily tasty assets on board for Card Of The Week. Each week in May if you purchase a few packs of any UFS set, you can pick up one of the following promos: Hualin’s Shop, Lynette’s Shop, Valeria’s Shop, and Olcadan’s Mentoring – a different promo each week while supplies last. And the great thing – the have the infinity symbol meaning anybody can play them. Also poking up through the ground are the fresh signs of Score’s Bleach. We had our Thirteen Court Guards sealed recently and players showed enough interest for us to try this one again. Every other Sunday, we’ll be getting our Bankai on with some new promos and playmates from our group of favorite Hollow Hunters (and spirit devourers!) We have tentative days, times, and play details in the calendar in the bar – bear with us while we figure out how to shoe horn everything in! Enjoy the fresh scent of returning gaming!

Enter The Reviews, Stage Left

Welcome to your front row seats for this double feature of gaming reviews at the Diversions Theatre. First up on the playbill, we screen the survival horror stylings of Twilight Creation's newest game and see if you can take me to ZombieTown. Then on the second reel, we give you Beowulf The Movie Board Game The Review. We check to see if this Fantasy Flight Game saga is a epic journey into fun or just an epic fail. Enjoy the reviews and try the veal!

What Happens In Vegas, Stays In The Weekly Round-Up!

You can bet on the house this week as we've scoured the web and brought you the best of the semi-sober reports from the web as to the happenings from the great gaming retailer expo in Las Vegas - The GAMA Trade Show. We searched from Roulette wheels to Blackjack tables and are dealing out these winning hands: WoW Traitors All Caught, Upper Deck Makes A Call Collectable, WizKids Sends More HeroClix Sets To The Old Folks Home, Fantasy Flight Get ANOTHER License, Wizards Of The Coast Airs WPN, Bandai Jumps Forward And Gives Details On Ninjas Two Sets In The Future, WotC Reveals Some Inner Thoughts On D&D4, and our Link Madness and a Guest Capsule Review from the Don King of Anime - the Mox. No crapping out on news this week - the Weekly Round-Up! is a fully loaded floor show, only without Celine Dion or the Blue Man Group.

Lorwyn Less, Shadowmoor

We just had a great phone call today from one of our talented, if not stall oriented, players - Jacob Land. Due to his fantastic speedy deck play (Yeah, I couldn't believe it either!) he scored a tasty box of Shadowmoor at the prerelease this last weekend. He has selflessly leant the box to us for this weekend's "Goodnight Lorwyn Finale" sealed. So instead of all Lorwyn block, get a sneak peek of what to expect for the Release event next week. Way to go Land - are you sure Hobbit didn't score the box instead?

Run, Don't Walk Like An Egyptian To These Reviews

We have a very historical pair of reviews this week that came floating down the Nile River. First up, we look at Days Of Wonder's Cleopatra And The Society Of Architects and see if they made an asp out of themselves. We then follow that up with a quick dig at Fun Factory's Giza to see if this tile based game is truly fun or a cheap Taiwanese souvenir knock off. It's truly a bit of pyramid power for this week's reviews!
