An actual list of Magic tournaments? Preposterous! But true, my friends, so very true. Our Magic spirit has been rekindled by the summer heat, upcoming holiday fireworks, and advent of the newest Magic the Gathering set – Magic Core Set 2010 or M10. July has prerelease events, release events, and a new DCI promotional foil. And, as an added bonus, Wizards is instituting a “Buy It By The Box” promotion. June has zipped by at warp speed. Summer is upon is on full glory and we are ready to embrace it. Origins Game Faire was last weekend and GenCon is peeking at us from over the horizon. Wow, two timely reviews this week - we certainly ARE getting the ball back and rolling in the demo vaults. Mainly we need to clean some more space out - we start the new demoing season very shortly now and need to start cleaning out the old for the new - sort of s summer touchup for us. But enough of that, let's see what we had on tap this week! First up, we knew the secret password and got the very fresh ONEXENO from Penrose Press delivered to our doors for an inspection. Was it ship shape or did we ship it out? And speaking of ships, we crashed into a review of Shipwrecked from Out Of The Box games. Out Of The Box brings the family friendly games home but is this a winner or just a "castaway"? The heat is rising and so is our review count!

It's been an on again/off again thing for our reviews (and our website) over the last week or two. A huge amount of paperwork toppled and buried the valiant Troll under its weight until just recently. While not entirely free, things are looking to get back to some level of normality around here. We have the recently created review of Rio Grande's Dragonriders up which asks whether dragons DO make everything better and then we cast an eye to overview Free Realms - the Tween-tastic on-line gaming experience. But is it the next big thing? We are currently contacting companies for our next load of demo-y goodness. More reviews on the way!

Whew! We were just able now to pull ourselves out of the bomb crater. What bomb? Why the major rules revisions coming to Magic: The Gathering, of course? WotC released seven of the new changes coming as of July and the M10 Core set to Magic. Some rewording, some manipulating, and oh yeah - full rules being changed or flat dropped out.
